Newsletter 2008

Here is the newsletter that was included in the Christmas cards. For those of you that received a Christmas card, this will be a repeat.

Dear Family and Friends,

At the close of 2008 will want to wish all of you a very blessed holiday season. We pray that the joy of the season will be in your life.

Yes, we moved again. For all of you that put our address in pencil we commend you on knowing our pattern. For those of you that did not, shame on you. You should know better. We have moved back to Missouri. We missed the green, the change of seasons and believe it or not, we missed the snow. We were tired of the desert and did not care too much for so much brown. Bob's job did not work out in Nevada and he got an opportunity to go back to work for ITT Technical Institute. Missouri was calling us back home. But, we missed being so close to family and being able to get to them in a few hours. Besides the move this year; if that was not enough, we also had to deal with the sudden death of Myra's father in February after a brief illness. Myra missed being with him for his final moments, but we are grateful for the opportunity we had to spend a few days with family and get reacquainted with family members we hadn't seen in a while. Myra and the kids were able to spend a few weeks with her mom this summer before the move. We enjoyed good food, fun times and fond memories. We also spent a few days in Salt Lake City visiting family and friends and seeing all that it has to offer. We were able to enjoy several trips to California to see Bob's family while we were in Nevada since it was so close. We loved seeing the family there and loved going to the beach.


The children have defied all of our best efforts to keep them young. They continue to grow older, but as their parents, we are still 29. No, we do not plan on sharing our secret.


Emily, 20- is going to school at a local community college. She is working toward an Associate of Arts degree until she decides what she wants to be when she grows up. She is again the creator and designers of our Christmas cards. She also keep up our blog. She is the Primary Pianist in our ward. Loves making cards, kids, music, facebook, reading blogs, Michael Phelps and her new Cricut.



Evan,17- junior in High School. Had a great year. Competed in a triathlon and placed 3rd for his age group. Went to Montana and Yellowstone for a High Adventure and got within iches of a baby bear. Did a 50-mile bike trip though Death Valley. He keeps us all in stitches with his wit and sense of humor. Loves photography, bicycling, cars, girls, dances, food, cooking, music and facebook. Not necessarily in that order.

Hailey, 13- 7th grade. We lost a teenager (Emily) and gained another one. Loves Hannah Montana, High School Musical 3 and got to go see her other love -JONAS BROTHERS live in concert. Her other highlight was seeing the High School were High School Musical was filmed in Salt Lake. Traded her dance shoes in for piano keys. Has a cute personality, but does not let everyone see that side of her since she is so shy. She is secretaryy of her Beehive class.

Andrew,9- 3rd grade. Loves to put things together and take them apart. He has turned into a Bear (Cub Scouts that is ). Does well in school, but cannot spell worth a darn. Loves swimming, mowing the lawn, potatoes and gravy and helping his dad. Got to float the Snake River in an inner tube while at grandmas-awesome. He is on the speed stack team at school and one of the fastest stackers on the team.


Bob, 29. Teaching at ITT in Kansas City as well as Chairmen of the Computer Aided Drafting Department. He is extremely busy putting in 12-16 hour days. He is also a counselor in the High Priest Group Presidency. Work doesn't keep him busy enough (ha, ha), so we decided to be in the remodeling business again and we are busy fixing our fixer upper. Those tools were getting a little rusty. Speaking of tools, he acquired more tools from his dad. We need a bigger garage.

Myra, 29. Loves being a stay-at-home mom. Continues to play chauffer, tutor, mentor, nurse, maid, secretary, etc. and most important of all mom and wife to the most important people in her life. She teaches Relief Society once a month. Cannot wait for the temple to only be about 20 minutes away instead of 4 hours.

We love our home here in Independence. As always, our door is always open. (That remindes me-put "fix door on honey do list"). We invite all of you to come visit and see all that Missouri has to offer. The pool in the backyard is a welcome treat in the summer. Come see why we moved back here. We would love to show you around.
