Trip to Idaho (Part 1)

Last month we took Emily to school at BYU in Idaho.  We took the kids out of school and made a family trip out of it.  We drove two cars, hers and ours.  We left early evening and drove all night.  Mapquest told us it would only take us 19 hours.  But let's just say they don't take into account all the stops you must make in order to get there.  It took us alot longer than 19 hours.  But it didn't help that we broke down about an hour from our destination. Here are photos from along the way.  We went through Nebraska, and Wyoming, two of the most boring states ever.  But we did get some gorgous shots.

The broken car.  We just happened to stop and look out at a scenic spot near Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  Gorgeous view, but that mixed with radiator fluid pouring out of the van does not make for a gorgeous view. We got it towed into St. Anthony and my brother had us take it to his favorite mechanic.  He is our new favorite person in the world.  He was able to fix it and had it back to us the next day.  Amazing!  Not amazing on how much it cost however. We were trying to save money by not stopping at a hotel, but we spent more on car repairs than a month in a hotel would have cost.

If it looks like the van is stuck it's because it is.  Luckily someone came by and helped us push it out. That's Bob trying to figure out what to do next.  We seem to have all the luck.
