{Drive Home from California}

The drive home was an adventure. First there was a funeral line and we had to wait for that. Then once we got on the freeway we hit traffic with not much movement at all. Little by little. While waiting in traffic we saw the tanks going down the freeway. (See pictures below) Then we hit some high winds and it was scary for awhile because our van is so high we feel the wind easily. Then in Arizona in the middle of the night we hit a snow storm. It was really scary it lasted a couple of hours. We thought we were never going to get out of it. We could hardly see the lines in the road and dad would have to watch the semi truck in front of us so he could see where the road was turning. He followed one truck for a good two hours. That truck kept us going. Then we stopped in Albuquerque to drop some stuff off at my aunt's house at like 2 in the morning.

Later on in the trip we saw that traffic was stopped completely and we knew that we would be there awhile so we decided to stop and get gas. My dad went in and asked if there was another way around the freeway and they told him to take the frontage road that was right next to the freeway and take it for like 5 miles and then take another road and you would eventually hit the freeway. We were on that road for like 10 miles and the GPS system would tell us there was a road and there wasn't a road. The road eventually turned into a dirt road and we thought we were driving into the middle of nowhere and not coming back. We almost turned around but we didn't know. After a long time we eventually made it back to the freeway. And after some scary times on the road we were so glad that we took that road because we think that the road was blocked by an accident for a long time.

After driving for 30+ hours we were hurrying to go to my 6:30 p.m. class and we got there at 8:45 and nobody was there. So we hurried for no reason. Grandma was giving some of grandpa's stuff away and one of the things was this amplifier headphones. Everybody had so much fun with these. We would talk and turn the volume up really loud. We got alot of entertainment out of them. Later we plugged them into the speakers of the car and it was really loud. It was like a microphone and we were speaking like we were the captain of an airplane.
