Grandpa's funeral happened on his 85th birthday. He was buried at a National Cemetary. They are very structured there and they have funerals every 1/2 hour on the dot. So we had to be there early and wait in a certain spot until our time came up. As you can see all the cars lined up waiting for like 1/2 hour.
Now was the funeral part and it lasted a 1/2 hour. It was very short compared to my grandpa Tibbitts funeral. They were both way different. My grandpa Tibbitts' funeral was all about him and paying tribute to him. My grandpa Lurkers' funeral was nothing about him, they didn't really mention his name. They were more concerned about getting us in and out of there on time. And since he was cremated, we weren't able to see his body. So it made it seem so unreal and hard to bring closure to it.
The church man giving a few words and then it was over.
